Frequently asked questions

Affordability is perhaps the most important consideration for any homeowner. Conservatories vary greatly in price, starting at around £10,000 right up to over £100,000. Costs will be influenced by size, material, design, roof, glazing type, and site. It’s also worth visiting our vast show centre where we can give you guideline prices for models as displayed.

Usually the answer is no, as long as the conservatory does not cover more than half your garden area. There are exceptions, such as installing conservatories on Listed Buildings or in conservation areas, so, if you’re unsure, it’s always best to check with your local authority. Although planning permission is not usually required, your conservatory installation will need to comply with current Building Regulations.

When you’re planning a conservatory installation, it’s important to have a realistic timescale. This can help to limit disruption to your daily routine. Of course, timescales will depend on the size and complexity of the installation. A free survey will give you a general idea of what timescale to expect.

From Traditional style Conservatories to modern home Extensions, Orangeries, Loggias, and tiled roof conservatories, the choice can sometimes be overwhelming. By talking to an adviser and explaining your preferences, they can advise you on the best solution to your specific requirements.

Again, this will depend a lot on your personal preferences and the style of your home. As a general guide, PVCu is usually most cost-effective/thermally efficient and virtually maintenance free. Hardwood Timber is ideal for period properties and Listed Buildings.

Every home is different. The good news is that a range of conservatory styles will be available to you when you speak to us. We are able to tell you about the range of products available – for example, a Contemporary Lean-to conservatory is suitable for smaller homes – we offer advice on how to customise your product. For example, you could ask what colour schemes are available and whether you can add a wood-grain foil effect to the design.
